For example, if I try to connect to smb://foo, it takes awhile, before the shares are available. Then I can click on the share. I wait a bit more. Then if I want to copy a file. The progress bar just sits there. I find if I manually mount the smb share (mount_smb), then browse to the mount point via nautilus, copying files is a breeze.
