I've built/installed these games from the ports tree, and they start fine. However, the sound is terrible. The sound card seems to be echoing each sound at least 5 times. This, in turn, slows the games down. I've disabled KDE's sound daemon, thinking that maybe it was trying to play the sounds as well, but it's the same. Anyway, I figured _someone_ on this list has probably installed one of these games and figured it out. ___ dmesg as follows: FreeBSD 5.3-STABLE #1: Sun Jan 9 20:50:08 EST 2005 root@wizard.valleygate.net:/usr/src/sys/i386/compil e/WIZARD Timecounter "i8254" frequency 1193182 Hz quality 0 CPU: AMD Athlon(tm) Processor (1202.73-MHz 686-class CP U) Origin = "AuthenticAMD" Id = 0x644 Stepping = 4 Features=0x183f9ff AMD Features=0xc0440000 real memory = 771686400 (735 MB) avail memory = 745390080 (710 MB) ... pcm0: port 0xe400-0xe403,0xe000-0xe003, 0xdc00-0xdcff irq 11 at device 7.5 on pci0 pcm0: [GIANT-LOCKED] pcm0: ___ Thanks.
