OK .... I finally got ICQ working in another Win98 LAN box by installing
MSIE5, Netmeeting, and ICQ for netmeeting ...... not real reliable though
but looks like ICQ end is partly broken

Also tried MSN Messenger and it works fine

I haven't got SOCKS installed on either local or remote gateway
