Hi everyone! Reading this in the /etc/hosts file: #::1 localhost localhost.my.domain #127.0.0.1 localhost localhost.my.domain # # Imaginary network. #10.0.0.2 myname.my.domain myname #10.0.0.3 myfriend.my.domain myfriend Seems like the first states alias and then full hostname (127.0.0.1). The imaginary network (10.0.0.2) seems to be full hostname and then the alias. Which should it be? I've always used IP, full hostname, and alias for everything in the hosts file. Can someone spread some light on this? Best regards, Paul To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-questions" in the body of the message
