Build fails with GCC 14. This blocks GCC_DEFAULT update to GCC 14.

checking whether the C compiler (gcc14 -O2 -pipe -fstack-protector-strong
-Wl,-rpath=3D/usr/local/lib/gcc14 -fno-strict-aliasing -L/usr/local/lib
-fstack-protector-strong -Wl,-rpath=3D/usr/local/lib/gcc14 -L/usr/local/lib=
/gcc14
) works... no
configure: error: installation or configuration problem: C compiler cannot
create executables.
