Therefore you can still type input to the (invisible) command line or connect to that system via telnet/ssh/rlogin ... By default the system shuts down gracefully if you hit it's power button. If you're using GDM/KDM you can also use their shutdown options. Eventually it might crash during shutdown though (at least over here). Alonso
