Do you have the proper checksums recorded in the distinfo file?
They should be:

MD5 (gnome2/libxml2-2.6.30.tar.gz) =3D 460e6d853e824da700d698532e57316b
SHA256 (gnome2/libxml2-2.6.30.tar.gz) =3D 877762a0f44785487d747ed7bd3db364a=
de75943e6d8e9c49fa6340c3833735e
SIZE (gnome2/libxml2-2.6.30.tar.gz) =3D 4726657

I have run into similar troubles when /usr/port/distfiles is nfs or
samba mounted.
