To: freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.org Date: Sat, 6 May 1995 17:45:55 +1000 (EST) X-Mailer: ELM [version 2.4 PL23] Content-Type: text Content-Length: 704 Sender: questions-owner@FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk HI, I've just seen a mention of disk striping code in a FreeBSD newsgroup. >From that article it was unclear if striping was only available on SCSI disks or all disks in general (with similar geometries supposedly). We have a trusty machine still running 1.1.5 with two identical IDE drives. I'm waiting until 2.1 to upgrade this machine. Will I be able to use the striping when I upgrade ? { BTW here is my vote for a rock solid 2.1. I'm not concerned if it is delievered in August/September even (though obviously sooner is better 8-) ). Buggy releases do nothing for the image IMHO (surprise, surprise !!). I can understand there must be a lot of pressure to produce the CDs however.} simon
