I haven't personally checked that, but some additional
optimizations may be made by the compiler, space or speed wise,
with respect to runtime performance.  But I'm only going to say
that I know this option speeds builds up by 50% on machines beefy
enough to handle it.  Packages built with this option have not
seen any abnormal behavior WRT installations built without.
