What, the absolutely critical server that you are trying to run decides to exit because it can't guarentee sufficient backing store? First of all, this situation simply does not occur in a properly configured system. Secondly, for such a server to fail to run is just as bad as if the system were to run out of swap. IRIX has a swap reservation flag too, a left-over from the SysV days.
