I don't know but there were lots of changes from 5 to 6 which could  
cause you problems, I am guessing.

My 6.1-RELEASE machines don't do a lot of nfs.  My 6.0 machines have  
had no nfs issues as a server or a client.

I don't remember general complaints about nfs in the 6.x series here  
in the list.
