>From memory, I believe it is the bit mask used for baud rates in c_cflag
(i.e. the low nybble is used to select speed).  I've run into this in the
past and I remember having to code around it somewhat.

Typical pseudocode use:

getmodes()
c_cflag &= ~CBAUD;		/* Remove old baud rate */
c_cflag |= B_BAUD_RATE;		/* Set new baud rate */
setmodes()
