After more tests, the problem is specific to the motherboard we are using: MSI RC410-M2 rev. 1.0 with the controller plugged in the PCI Express port originaly used with the video card. Since it is the only port the controller can be plugged-in, we cannot try on another port. The controller works on 7.0-STABLE / 8.0-CURRENT on my home machine with a different motherboard. Any leads / tests / hacks / ideas are welcome!
