It is not detected in 3.2R boot floppy. There was no driver for the AMD 53c974 chips in 3.2. There is a driver in 3.3, but it is an unadvertised feature, since it still needs a little error recovery work. In any case, download the 3.3 boot floppy and see if it works for you.
