Hello list, I saw another user post about issues compiling in ndis support into the kernel for FreeBSD 5.3. I'm also having an issue. I've gotten both if_ndis and ndis kernel modules to load and I have connectivity to the box, but I'd like to have ndis be permanent. I've added the following to my kernel: options NDISAPI device ndis device wlan (this was already present in the default) Here's the issue I run into: make -V CFILES -V SYSTEM_CFILES -V GEN_CFILES | MKDEP_CPP="cc -E" CC="cc" xargs mkdep -a -f .newdep -O -pipe -Wall -Wredundant-decls -Wnested-externs -Wstrict-prototypes -Wmissing-prototypes -Wpointer-arith -Winline -Wcast-qual -fformat-extensions -std=c99 -nostdinc -I- -I. -I/usr/src/sys -I/usr/src/sys/contrib/dev/acpica -I/usr/src/sys/contrib/altq -I/usr/src/sys/contrib/ipfilter -I/usr/src/sys/contrib/pf -I/usr/src/sys/contrib/dev/ath -I/usr/src/sys/contrib/dev/ath/freebsd -I/usr/src/sys/contrib/ngatm -D_KERNEL -include opt_global.h -fno-common -finline-limit=8000 --param inline-unit-growth=100 --param large-function-growth=1000 -mno-align-long-strings -mpreferred-stack-boundary=2 -ffreestanding /usr/src/sys/dev/if_ndis/if_ndis.c:85:30: ndis_driver_data.h: No such file or directory /usr/src/sys/dev/if_ndis/if_ndis_pci.c:65:30: ndis_driver_data.h: No such file or directory mkdep: compile failed *** Error code 1 the file, ndis_driver_data.h is present in: /usr/src/sys/compat/ndis/ndis_driver_data.h /usr/src/sys/dev/if_ndis/ndis_driver_data.h /usr/src/sys/modules/if_ndis/ndis_driver_data.h Where else might i put a copy of this file so the kernel can build itself?
