The book The Complete FreeBSD, by Greg Lehey, has a chapter covering vinum and it almost hasn't change since then (AFAIK). The book is part of the FreeBSD documentation project, so it could be referenced from the handbook or a starting point for the proposed article. Regards, Alberto Mijares
