that's not a problem.. you really don't have one..

this is a problem for Mr Gibbs I think....

if you boot off the  install floppy and do the 'fixit' option, can you
access the drives using dd?
e.g.
dd if=/dev/rsd0 of=/dev/null count=1000 bs=32k
