Actually, I'd be glad to call a derived product something else. However, (a) it would perceived as a fork and hence hurt FreeBSD; (b) It would create confusion regarding compatibility; and (c) it would fail to give credit where credit was due. If I wanted a name purely for value, I'd do a Linux distro. It'd be instant IPO time, unless I did it as badly as LinuxOne. (Which I wouldn't, since I care about quality.
