Anonymous FTP is fine. Here's my problem. Users can see anything on the machine. I did do a "chmod 711" on the /home subdir, so "backing" up one level hides that. Of course, someone can just "cd /home" and see everything. Also, a user can just keep going up a level and see everything on the system. I hesitate to "chmod 711" on every subdir -- I really don't know if this would bomb out other software? Of course, a savy user could just "cd /etc" or something. I've been using War-FTPD on an NT box, with the FreeBSD drive mapped using Samba. I'd really prefer to use FreeBSD and get rid of that @#$@#$ NT! Surely there's a way to prevent users from seeing/downloading things outside their home subdir????
