I've written down and attached the kernel's diagnostic output below (crashmsg.txt). If I boot the GENERIC kernel from the installation CDs the crash still occurs. Disabling HyperThreading, ACPI or booting in Safe Mode doesn't help, too. Below I have also attached the dmesg, my kernel configuration (JW_NOBBY) and the output of "pciconf -lv". >How-To-Repeat: Just execute "cat > /dev/ulpt0" from a console. -> Immediate crash without any chance to enter any characters. >Fix: --- crashmsg.txt begins here --- Fatal trap 12: page fault while in kernel mode cpuid = 1; apic id = 01 fault virtual address = 0x4 fault code = supervisor read, page not present instruction pointer = 0x8:0xc04b2a18 stack pointer = 0x10:0xd88bcc7c frame pointer = 0x10:0x480 code segment = base 0x0, limit 0xfffff, type 0x1b = DPL 0, pres 1, def32 1, gran 1 processor eflags = interrupt enabled, resume, IOPL = 0 current process = 32 (irq21: ohci) trap number = 12 panic: page fault cpuid = 1 boot() called on cpu#1 syncing disks ... --- crashmsg.txt ends here --- --- dmesg.boot begins here --- Copyright (c) 1992-2004 The FreeBSD Project.
