Thanks for the clarification! In the context of this thread my answer
was wrong - I thought tmpfs allocates from kmem for bulk storage, like
one mode of mdmfs does.

In this light, it shouldn't compete with zfs nearly as much as I assumed.

On the bright side, and a bit offtopic, amd64 will get the ability to
allocate a lot more of memory for kmem soon, so people having problems
with zfs will be relieved.
