An ST31200N at id 0 shows fine, the ST32151N I had a similar problem when I had an Adaptec 2940 and a Micropolis 4 gig drive in a machine. Turned out to be the ram--it also exhibited the problem of counting to odd #'s of ram, (on 8 meg boundaries)). I broke open the case and found the two pair of simms where matched with each other's mates. After swapping those around it looks like the problem's are gone. (now this may have nothing to do with your situation).
