Card active or link active? Perhaps it's dropping into the wrong
mode...

It's:

ifconfig de0 -link2

to go into 10bT mode and

ifconfig de0 link2

to go into 100bTX mode (or it is on the cards I've worked with). I
have 2 SMC 10/100 cards here working FINE under 2.1.5-RELEASE.
