Owens" To: questions list FreeBSD Subject: rogue tcsh processes, started 31Dec69 :-) Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: questions-owner@freebsd.org Precedence: bulk Weird stuff: (2.0.5-RELEASE system) In search of a different problem, I was perusing the output of a ps aux | sort | more When I noticed a tcsh process that shouldn't have been there. This is what I saw: owensc 13075 0.0 0.0 552 12 p2 RV 31Dec69 0:00.00 -tcsh (tcsh) Note the date!!!!! That is NOT in keeping with my system time! :-) I ran ps again and the process was gone. But when I ran it again, it was back, but this time with a slightly different process number. If I continually run ps, this continues. Why? It's got me spooked!! :) Thanks, --- ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Charles Owens Email: owensc@enc.edu "I read somewhere to learn is to Information Technology Services remember... and I've learned that Eastern Nazarene College we've all forgot..." - King's X -------------------------------------------------------------------------
