It includes a five port hub 2 *PCI* networking card and spare cabels for $99. For the laptop you would need to purchase a pcmcia lan card for about $50 -$75. It'll be pretty easy, the hardest part will be getting the machines to recognize the cards. also you *might* have problems with using the modem after you install the nics. john ********************************* * M C S N E T * * Johnathan Raymond Sconiers II * * jrs@mcs.net * ********************************* On Mon, 5 Jan 1998, Jim Joseph wrote: > Date: Mon, 05 Jan 1998 11:11:41 +0000 > From: Jim Joseph > Reply-To: jcj@phoenix.net > To: Ash Yadav , questions@FreeBSD.ORG > Subject: Re: advice on setting up a Home Area Network (HAN) > > Check out : > > http://www.freebsd.org/tutorials/ppp/ppp.html > > This shows you how to make a LAN route through a FreeBSD box. > As for networking equipment I would just get a 5 port hub. that is all > you need. they run somwhere from $50-70. > > Ash Yadav wrote: > > > > Folks, > > I just got BSD 2.2.5 running on a P5/90 last week.
