It looks like you are using the LaserJet driver. And the driver that appears to support the LJ6 family is the lj5mono. You will need to build the lj5mono driver into your gs tools and then configure your apsfilter with that driver. -----Original Message----- From: owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG [mailto:owner-freebsd-questions@FreeBSD.ORG]On Behalf Of Tor Stormwall Sent: Friday, January 04, 2002 12:35 PM To: freebsd-questions@freebsd.org Subject: Configuring a local printer Hi! I am having trouble with installing a HP LaserJet 6L on my 4.4-RELEASE system. I've read the docs but without any luck. To configure the system I have installed apsfilter and used its SETUP script. This is my printcap file: lp|ps|lj|laserjet;r=600x600;q=medium;c=gray;p=a4;m=auto:\ :lp=/dev/lpt0:\ :if=/usr/local/etc/apsfilter/basedir/bin/apsfilter:\ :sd=/var/spool/lpd/laserjet:\ :lf=/var/spool/lpd/laserjet/log:\ :af=/var/spool/lpd/laserjet/acct:\ :mx#0:\ :sh: # APS1_END - don't delete this The problem is that when I'm running "lpr " to print something, the printer keeps printing "white" papers and can only be stoped by stopping the power supply for it. Using "echo hello > /dev/lpt0" works without any problems. Have I missed something in the configuration of the printer?
