There are some problems with this basic approach: 1) browsers with a faked user agent, e.g. Opera 2) browsers in linux emulation send Linux as OS, e.g. Mozilla/5.0 (X11; U; Linux i386) 3) since some month Mozilla no nonger send the Version of FreeBSD, only the OS and the hardware platform: "FreeBSD i386" Point 3) is the biggest problem, because most users use Mozilla and fewer and fewer people use Netscape 4.x ...
