It's exactly the same machine, and exactly the same drive that I've done the Windows -> Windows tests from, FreeBSD and Windows 95 dual booting on the same drive. It's a WD ATA33 drive, with DMA enabled etc. etc. It's not a particularly speedy drive by any means, but it's definately fast enough to keep up with the speed of a 100BaseTX connection...
