The prompt: thud# greeted me when I as a humble user logged into thud just now ! worrying about security, I checked it out ... no worries :-) it was just this: motd annuonced nfs had been disabled, grep passwd showed my login dir as /home/stacey /home existed but cd /home/stacey failed, so login had left me in / Whether /home/stacey was a sym link to freefall ~jhs or not i dont know, as my link to thud died, but it was an initially worrying experience.
