I am getting mad with this problem. I have been searching the mailing list archives, but found no answer...it started when I switched to 3.0 (3.1 has the same problem). I was using 2.2.6 before. Until now, my "solution" was to put the IDE CD-ROM drive along with the hard drive on the primary controller, but this time I *really* need to put something on the secondary! I have read a success story related to changing configuration for the ed0 controller, but I do not even have this controller in my custom-built kernel. Please, send replies to the mailing list, so other people can find an answer, as I'm pretty sure this is a problem concerning a lot of FreeBSD 3.x users, not just me :) Thanks in advance!
