The problem then is with the ISP address you have.  This indicates
that at least part of the problem is something in th setup of the
particular ISP.

What is research@ijs.co.nz ?  Why is it related to the mail problems
you're seeing?

What is the *exact* message returned to you when you tried to mail
majordomo@freebsd.org ?

It's not "losing" the message, if you got a delivery failure back, as
you said above.  It is "rejecting" it though, and the reason of the
rejection should be clearly stated in the returned message.  So, what
was the exact text of this returned message?
