AFAIK, this behavior is allowed under ANSI C, since spaces
around identifiers does not change C semantics in any way.
Suggest you use ## for pasting colon to open.
That is, replace
_machdep_sys_##x:; \
with
_machdep_sys_##x##:; \
Similarly, replace
movl $(SYS_##x), %eax; \
with
movl $(SYS_##x##), %eax; \
This'll work under gnu cpp.
