I tried to upgrade, but the RealPlayer folks hadn't released a 5.0 for BSD yet. Trying to be a responsible, proactive consumer I mailed them my concerns and got an automatic-looking response stating that I would just have to be happy with the 3.0 version for now. Well, it's been about eight months and I miss my Grateful Dead streams, so I tried to use the Linux ELF version of RealPlayer via the ports library Linux emulation. It really looked promising at first, but then it just hung. No errors or anything; it just sat there until I told it to try again, then repeated the behaviour. My kernel is recompiled correctly for my sound card, BTW. What should I do? tia Jacob Ritorto, BSD advocate.
