Although, one of the below could help. 1) Does your keyboard work prior the install menu? 2) Can you use your keyboard when you get the visual kernel config options 3) Is it a cordless keyboard, connected thru a ps2 connector box (wireless)? 4) What is the console type set on to, when you see the boot messages?
