If you get changed the root password and promptly forgot it, put -s on the
Boot: prompt, press <ENTER> for the shell, and execute the following
commands:
mount -u /
mount -a
passwd root
adduser # add an account for yourself and invite yourself into
# group wheel. To get admin access use `su'.
