Windowmaker did start. This is definitely different behavior than I saw yesterday. Arguably, this is not a gnome problem, however. - Mike H. I believe I just recreated the .ICE-unix directory myself and then assigned the correct access bits. drwxrwxrwt 2 root wheel 512 Dec 20 21:07 .ICE-unix I just finished upgrading to 6.8.1 an hour or so ago.
