The machine happens to be -stable, last cvsupped 12-04-98, but the problem is the 2.2.8R floppies. >Description: boot.flp won't write to fixit.flp (2.2.8R) I downloaded these from 2.2.7R and they worked. In an attempt to isolate the problem, I tried using the 2.2.7R fixit floppy with the 2.2.8R boot floppy (I don't know if this is valid, matched set?), but the symptom was the same. It appears the boot floppy is the culprit. >How-To-Repeat: 1.Get boot.flp and fixit.flp from ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/2.2.8-RELEASE/floppies/ 2.fdimage each to a floppy. 3.boot from the boot floppy, skip kernel config (GENERIC is ok for my system) 4. >Fix: Workaround is to use 2.2.7R boot.flp and fixit.flp >Audit-Trail: >Unformatted: To Unsubscribe: send mail to majordomo@FreeBSD.org with "unsubscribe freebsd-bugs" in the body of the message
