I've added one to a freeBSD 6.2-stable install and the card shows in dmesg as pci2: on pcib2 atapci0: port = 0xbc00-0xbc07,0xb800-0xb803,0xb400- 0xb407,0xb000- 0xb003,0xbe00-0xbe0= f = irq 10 at device 1.0 on pci2 ata2: on atapci0 ata3: on atapci0 as well as listed in pciconf -lv as atapci0@pci2:1:0: class=3D0x010400 card=3D0x00000000 chip=3D0x8212128= 3 = rev=3D0x13 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'Integrated Technology Express (ITE) Inc' device =3D 'GigaRAID ATA 133 RAID controller RAID-Controller on= = Gigabyte 7NNXP' class =3D mass storage subclass =3D RAID However /dev/ is void of any new drive entries. I've tried configuring the raid card as simply IDE which should (afaik) show the two drives as just normal extra IDE drives. I've also tried the card set in raid 1 mode. I've attached the full dmesg, pciconf and device listing if it's of any help. In the listing, ad0 is my boot drive attached to the motherboards built in IDE controller. Then two 7 gig drives are attached for testing to the raid controller card. Am I missing something in configuring this card? Does the GENERIC kernel= support it by default? Any extra utils or modules I need to load that I'= m not aware of? I spent a fair amount of time yesterday googling this card and looking for any config options I may have missed, from what I've read it appears= that freeBSD _should_ support it, but I've seen a few posts from people with similar issues to the above, so I'm not 100% certain. Any help appreciated, Cheers, Gary ------------krhSn5vxk5s2waUdvTOXNk Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=pciconf.txt Content-Type: text/plain; name=pciconf.txt Content-Transfer-Encoding: Quoted-Printable agp0@pci0:0:0: class=3D0x060000 card=3D0x25308086 chip=3D0x25308086 rev=3D= 0x02 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'Intel Corporation' device =3D '82850/E Host-Hub Interface Bridge Device' class =3D bridge subclass =3D HOST-PCI pcib1@pci0:1:0: class=3D0x060400 card=3D0x00000000 chip=3D0x25328086 rev= =3D0x02 hdr=3D0x01 vendor =3D 'Intel Corporation' device =3D '82850/850E/860 AGP Bridge' class =3D bridge subclass =3D PCI-PCI pcib2@pci0:30:0: class=3D0x060400 card=3D0x00000000 chip=3D0x244e8086 re= v=3D0x04 hdr=3D0x01 vendor =3D 'Intel Corporation' device =3D '82801BA/CA/DB/DBL/EB/ER/FB (ICH2/3/4/4/5/5/6), 6300E= SB Hub Interface to PCI Bridge' class =3D bridge subclass =3D PCI-PCI isab0@pci0:31:0: class=3D0x060100 card=3D0x00000000 chip=3D0x24408086 re= v=3D0x04 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'Intel Corporation' device =3D '82801BA (ICH2) LPC Interface Controller' class =3D bridge subclass =3D PCI-ISA atapci1@pci0:31:1: class=3D0x010180 card=3D0x24401458 chip=3D0x244b8086 = rev=3D0x04 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'Intel Corporation' device =3D '82801BA (ICH2) UltraATA/100 IDE Controller' class =3D mass storage subclass =3D ATA uhci2@pci0:31:2: class=3D0x0c0300 card=3D0x24401458 chip=3D0x24428086 re= v=3D0x04 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'Intel Corporation' device =3D '82801BA/BAM (ICH2/ICH2-M) USB Universal Host Control= ler' class =3D serial bus subclass =3D USB none0@pci0:31:3: class=3D0x0c0500 card=3D0x24401458 chip=3D0x24438086 re= v=3D0x04 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'Intel Corporation' device =3D '82801BA/BAM (ICH2/ICH2-M) SMBus Controller' class =3D serial bus subclass =3D SMBus uhci3@pci0:31:4: class=3D0x0c0300 card=3D0x24401458 chip=3D0x24448086 re= v=3D0x04 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'Intel Corporation' device =3D '82801BA/BAM (ICH2/ICH2-M) USB Universal Host Control= ler' class =3D serial bus subclass =3D USB none1@pci1:0:0: class=3D0x030000 card=3D0x402f1043 chip=3D0x020010de rev= =3D0xa3 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'NVIDIA Corporation' device =3D 'GeForce3 [NV20]' class =3D display subclass =3D VGA atapci0@pci2:1:0: class=3D0x010400 card=3D0x00000000 chip=3D0x82121283 r= ev=3D0x13 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'Integrated Technology Express (ITE) Inc' device =3D 'GigaRAID ATA 133 RAID controller RAID-Controller on = Gigabyte 7NNXP' class =3D mass storage subclass =3D RAID rl0@pci2:2:0: class=3D0x020000 card=3D0x13001186 chip=3D0x13001186 rev=3D= 0x10 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'D-Link System Inc' device =3D 'DL 10038C or 10038D (Remark of Realtek RTL-8139) Fas= t Ethernet Adapter' class =3D network subclass =3D ethernet uhci0@pci2:3:0: class=3D0x0c0300 card=3D0x12340925 chip=3D0x30381106 rev= =3D0x50 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'VIA Technologies Inc' device =3D 'VT82xxxxx UHCI USB 1.1 Controller (All VIA Chipsets)= ' class =3D serial bus subclass =3D USB uhci1@pci2:3:1: class=3D0x0c0300 card=3D0x12340925 chip=3D0x30381106 rev= =3D0x50 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'VIA Technologies Inc' device =3D 'VT82xxxxx UHCI USB 1.1 Controller (All VIA Chipsets)= ' class =3D serial bus subclass =3D USB ehci0@pci2:3:2: class=3D0x0c0320 card=3D0x12340925 chip=3D0x31041106 rev= =3D0x51 hdr=3D0x00 vendor =3D 'VIA Technologies Inc' device =3D 'VT6202 USB 2.0 Enhanced Host Controller' class =3D serial bus subclass =3D USB ------------krhSn5vxk5s2waUdvTOXNk Content-Disposition: attachment; filename=dmesg.txt Content-Type: text/plain; name=dmesg.txt Content-Transfer-Encoding: Quoted-Printable Copyright (c) 1992-2007 The FreeBSD Project.
