Done overnight : - Multiple buildkernel and buildworld with -j 4, -j 6 and -j 10 - a few installkernel (and reboot) as well as one installworld. - an incremental Backup with Bacula while buildworld was running. No incidents. I have not done any performance testing, not verified if there is indeed less contention on the Giant Lock - subjectively it appears that Giant shows in top much less than before .. but obviously that is not really representative.
