Just use mad-wifi hal to replace a system one. It worked fine to me.
After replacing /usr/src/sys/contrib/dev/ath/ with content of madwifi-hal-0=
=2E10.5.6-current.tar.gz/hal (and building a new kernel) my ath0
{
ath_hal: 0.10.5.6 (AR5210, AR5211, AR5212, AR5416, RF5111, RF5112, RF2413, =
RF5413, RF2133, RF2425, RF2417)
ath0: <Atheros 5424/2424> mem 0xf4000000-0xf400ffff irq 16 at device 0.0 on=
 pci2

ath0@pci0:2:0:0:        class=3D0x020000 card=3D0x04281468 chip=3D0x001c168=
c rev=3D0x01 hdr=3D0x00                                                    =
                       =20
    vendor =3D 'Atheros Communications Inc.' =
        =20
    device     =3D 'AR5006 family 802.11abg Wireless NIC'                  =
        =20
    class      =3D network                                                 =
        =20
    subclass   =3D ethernet

}
 working very fast - burst, dturbo, Atheros Fast Frames modes, and other at=
heros modes supported wery well! But hardware led not blinking (under u-kno=
w-what OS it is blinking when tx or rx is active).
