The first 3 I used it to allow a larger suspend-to-disk partition after installing more RAM. The last one I used it to free up space for FreeBSD. It works very well. I've also used it on 3 friends' machines who wanted to install NT or Linux onto a Windows machine. Over the years you will get a lot of value for the $40 or $50 outlay. [One note on defrag: You can monitor the progress visually, at least on Win95. It is possible that it will not free up all space if it finds something it refuses to relocate -- that will be marked on the display of the individual sectors. Also: Depending on your memory requirements, you might want to kill virtual memory, which will free up more disk space that had been used for swapping. Or just rebooting might move the swap space towards the front of the disk if you have the dynamic swap space (the default I think) and that was the non-relocatable item.] Good luck, Greg Smith _____________________________________________________________________________________ Get more from the Web.
