Message-ID: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: TEXT/PLAIN; charset=US-ASCII Sender: owner-questions@freebsd.org X-Loop: FreeBSD.org Precedence: bulk A friend of mine accidentally executed the command below with root permissions, # dd if=bootncsa of=/dev/sd0 The FBSD box was still running after this command was executed. sd0 is the only hard disk in the fbsd server with 4 partitions. 1 DOS 2 FreeBSD / 3 FreeBSD /var 4 FreeBSD /usr When the server rebooted, I saw, Non-System Disk Error. Insert diskette with operating system. I did not see the booteasy of FreeBSD anymore. I tried a FreeBSD bootdisk in drive a: with booteasy. Boot: sd(0,a)/kernel Bad disklabel. Kernel not found. Anyone who had the same problem as this one? HELP !!! -- june P.S. Please cc me. I am not on the mailing list :)
