Its a Compaq. Very wacky systems - the magic incantation to get SMP running is that you have to go into the BIOS Setup and set the operating system type to Novell Netware SMP (?!). I have had to do this with every multi-processor Compaq I've ever put FreeBSD on. SOmething to do with the way it sets up the hardware. I got the tip from a guy in Holland on this list who found it out via trial and error. Aside from that its just a simple matter of adding the two SMP lines to the ketnel config and recompiling.
