I first tried just patching the kernel tree on what was 10.2-PRELEASE2. The patch applied cleanly, and the machine was able to reboot with that kernel. I then enabled the ipv6 configuration in /etc/rc.conf, as that seems to trigger the problem in the majority of cases. I rebooted twice with that enabled, and had no problems. I have now checked out the stable/10 branch, applied the patch and my V240 is currently grinding through a buildworld/buildkernel. I will install the resulting userland and kernel after the compile finishes, and report how things go in this bug.
