[-- Attachment #1 --] Unlike my experience with a number of the linuxes, FreeBSD doesn't seem to crash .... (mine has been permanently online for best part of a month since I got it installed), the docs are at least partly intelligible, the contributors to the mailing lists are mostly sensible openminded folk who realize there is a "real world" out there with all sorts of different operating systems in use for various reasons, the mailing list contributors aren't all fanatics (BSD users aren't required to face California several times a day & recite "Our Linus ......") thats enough to keep me from messing with "trendy" operating systems like redhat ----- Original Message ----- From: Allix Primus To: freebsd-newbies@FreeBSD.ORG Sent: Monday, September 20, 1999 3:08 AM Subject: Linux Distribution or not ? Just wondering whats the difference between freebsd and linux distributions, it uses the same things and even uses X , isn't it a distribution of linux ? what seperates it from that ?
