One of the things people often forget when considering insurrections of the people are that the armed forces of the govt are also the people. You won't get the army killing friends and relatives, or fellow countrymen, just because the govt says so. During civil war situations the standing army usually has a lot of deserters often led by middle ranking officers who just up and switch sides taking the whole squadron or whatever with them, weapons and all. So should the situation arise I suspect the revolutionaries will have more than rifles. Paul.
