Hi CY,

Your best bet is to use 'portsnap'.
It is located in base and very simple to use.

man portsnap for more information

When you first use it you can follow these steps:

sudo portsnap fetch extract

Then at subsequent occasions when you want to upgrade your ports tree=20
issue the following command:

sudo portsnap fetch update

Alternatively it can be run daily via the system crontab with the=20
following command:

portsnap cron update
