I replaced the fam dependency with gamin using pkgdb -Fu several months ago. I have never done the Makefile alteration you suggest, yet kde 3.5.2 builds and runs just fine for me. Maybe there's a time-bomb ticking in kdelibs3 and I haven't noticed it yet... :/ David -- Sure God created the world in only six days, but He didn't have an established user-base.
