Sorry, I just have to clarfiy something. Are you stating that leaving a
cannister of butane on a coffee pot burner would be a deliberate and
malicious act, or is this sort of behaviour common in the US? It sounds a
tad dangerous to me. :-)

Just the way it was worded looked a bit odd. As though leaving it on a
coffee pot burner would be "an easy mistake to make".
