I think you misunderstand. What is now 2.2.6-Beta was 2.2.5-Stable the day before the name changed. What we now call -Beta could also be considered the most recent version of -Stable. If the -Beta tag worries you, don't upgrade till 2.2.6 goes golden. There will be very few changes between now and that time, so you should be pretty safe from a security standpoint.
